In the quiet suburban landscape of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, the life of 17-year-old Michael Nwaulu was tragically cut short on the evening of Thursday, March 2, 2023. A student at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School, Michael was remembered for his easygoing and carefree attitude. The fatal incident unfolded around 8:40 p.m. in a parking lot situated in the 9600 block of Parkstone Drive.
Prince George's County police officers responded to a report of a shooting and discovered Michael
suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual, an adult male, was also found with gunshot wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening. This second victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the shooting. At this time, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or determined a motive for the shooting. To aid in their investigation, a reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for any information that leads to an arrest and indictment in connection with Michael Nwaulu's death. The case remains open as detectives continue to seek leads to identify those responsible for this violent act.
