In the quiet evening of March 29, 2021, the sense of peace in a Glenarden, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When officers from both the Glenarden and Prince George's County Police Departments arrived at the 7900 block of Glenarden Parkway around 9:10 p.m., they discovered a man lying outside of a residence, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified as 31-year-old Anthony Lamont Frost, a male resident of Washington, D.C.
The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit promptly took charge of the investigation into the fatal shooting. Detectives began the arduous process of canvassing the area for evidence and seeking out any potential witnesses to the crime. From the outset, investigators worked under the preliminary theory that the shooting was not a random act of violence. With a suspect identified, law enforcement agencies coordinated to bring him into custody. Omar Parker was located and apprehended in Richmond, Virginia. He now faces charges of first and second-degree murder, among other offenses, in connection with the death of Anthony Lamont Frost. Following his arrest, he was held in Virginia, awaiting extradition to Prince George's County to face the legal proceedings against him.
