On April 15, 2023, 12-year-old Jaylen Richards was tragically shot and killed in the Westport Homes public housing community of South Baltimore. The incident occurred around 9 PM in the 2400 block of Maisel Court, where witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots that created a chaotic scene reminiscent of a "warzone."
