Birane Gaye, 38, a Black / African American man from Baltimore, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of August 9, 2025. A ShotSpotter alert drew officers to the 2500 block of West Franklin Street in Southwest Baltimore at approximately 1:07 a.m., where they found Birane Gaye, 38, male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid and medics transported him to a nearby hospital, where Birane Gaye, 38, male, was pronounced dead a short time later.
