On May 3, 2023, Roger Neal, a 56-year-old resident of Hyattsville, Maryland, was found dead in his apartment following a fire. The incident occurred in the 6100 block of 42nd Avenue around 2:05 PM. Emergency responders, including the Hyattsville Police Department and Prince George’s County firefighters, discovered Neal suffering from trauma consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after being located by fire department personnel.
