In the early hours of May 20, 2023, the life of Kenneth Lyde, a 31-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short on a street in Baltimore, Maryland. At approximately 12:20 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered Lyde unresponsive, having sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported Lyde to a nearby hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical professionals to save his life, he was pronounced deceased. The cause of his death was determined to be the fatal gunshot wound.
Baltimore Police Department homicide detectives promptly took charge of the investigation into Lyde's death. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact the police or utilize the Metro Crime Stoppers tip line. To date, no information regarding any arrests, identified suspects, or persons of interest has been released to the public.
