On June 9, 2023, at approximately 8:03 p.m., the sounds of gunfire shattered the evening calm at the Middlebrook Commons apartment complex located in the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road. Residents of the complex made multiple calls to the Montgomery County Police Department to report the shots.
Upon their arrival, officers began to investigate
the scene and discovered several shell casings scattered across the parking lot, a grim indication of the violence that had just occurred. A search of the area led them to a grassy area behind one of the apartment buildings. There, they found Errick Roy Dixon, a resident of the complex, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite the quick response from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, Mr. Dixon was pronounced deceased at the scene.
