On a summer morning in Baltimore, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of the 1600 block of Delano Court. Responding to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 9:00 a.m. on July 17, 2023, Western District patrol officers arrived to a grim scene inside one of the homes. There, they discovered 34-year-old Cordy Shaw, a Black male, and a 35-year-old woman, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
