In the early hours of a Friday morning, the quiet of a Laurel, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On July 21, 2023, at approximately 1:10 a.m., police responded to the 13300 block of Edinburgh Lane where they discovered 21-year-old Cameron Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. He was found outside and pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the death of the young man, a resident of Laurel, was immediately launched by the Prince George's County Police ...
