In a quiet Towson, Maryland neighborhood, a young life was tragically cut short in what police have described as a devastating family tragedy. Six-year-old Yash Honnal, a male of Indian descent, was discovered deceased in his home on August 18, 2023. The grim discovery was made after concerned friends requested a welfare check at the family's residence on Kenilworth Drive.
Upon entering the home, officers from the Baltimore County Police Department found a heartbreaking scene.
Yash, along with his parents, 37-year-old Yogesh H. Nagarajappa and 37-year-old Prathiba Y. Amarnath, were all found with apparent gunshot wounds. The family was last seen alive on the evening of August 15, 2023.
The preliminary investigation led detectives to believe that the incident was a double murder-suicide. It is suspected that Yogesh H. Nagarajappa, the father, was the perpetrator who took the lives of his wife and young son before taking his own. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting autopsies to officially determine the cause and manner of death for each family member.
