On the afternoon of September 15, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in the streets of Baltimore that cut short the life of a young man. Devonte Keith Pulley, a 26-year-old Black/African American male known affectionately as 'Good Baby,' was shot in the 700 block of Dr. Benjamin Quarles Place at approximately 4:20 p.m. The incident prompted a swift response from city police officers who arrived to find Mr.
Pulley suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched to the scene, and Mr. Pulley was transported to a local hospital. He was admitted in critical condition, and medical personnel worked to save his life. Despite their efforts, Devonte Pulley succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. His death, just five days before the birthday of his deceased brother, Jawan Goode, added another layer of profound grief for his family.
The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation into Mr. Pulley's death.
