On the morning of October 12, 2023, 66-year-old white female Joann Kay “Oz” Martz was fatally shot in her Williamsport, Maryland home. At approximately 9:08 a.m., her husband, 73-year-old David Martz Jr., called 911 and informed the dispatcher that he had shot his wife. Responding deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrived at the residence on the 11700 block of Cedar Ridge Road, where they found Joann deceased from gunshot wounds.
