On a Tuesday evening in Baltimore, the life of Regina Claggett Brown, a 54-year-old Black female, was tragically cut short. On October 24, 2023, violence erupted in the 2200 block of Sidney Avenue, where Brown was fatally wounded in a double shooting. The incident, which unfolded at approximately 8:55 p.m., also left a 24-year-old man injured.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Brown with a gunshot wound.
She and the male victim were transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Brown succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The young man who was also shot was reported to be in stable condition.
In the wake of the shooting, the Baltimore Police Department's homicide detectives have taken charge of the investigation.
