On July 7, 2024, Desmond Lowe, a 21-year-old resident of Germantown, Maryland, was shot and killed in an apartment building located on Mistletoe Springs Road in Laurel. The incident occurred shortly after midnight, around 12:10 AM. Upon arrival, police found Lowe and another adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Sadly, Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
