In the early moments of a Sunday morning, the quiet of a Laurel, Maryland apartment building was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On July 7, 2024, shortly after midnight, police were called to the 13000 block of Mistletoe Springs Road where they discovered a grim scene. Inside the building, 21-year-old Desmond Lowe of Germantown, a Black/African American male, was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
