On August 18, 2024, at approximately 4:11 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of North Decker Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Donell Bristol suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported him to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead.
Initially, authorities classified Bristol's death as a homicide, and homicide detectives took over the investigation.
