In the evening hours of November 20, 2019, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in a West Baltimore neighborhood. When the sounds of the shots faded, a 25-year-old Black man named Corey Jones lay dying. Police responded to a call for a shooting in the 3100 block of West North Avenue and found Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived at the scene, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
