A 5 year old girl's body is found 28 miles north of where she vanished
On September 22, 1994, 5-year-old Amanda "Mandy" Dougherty was reported missing from her North Lauderdale home after her father found the front door open. Two days later, her body was discovered in Palm Beach County, 28 miles away. She had been strangled with a wire, and while her body showed signs of trauma, investigators did not confirm sexual assault. Despite extensive investigations, Amanda's murder remains unsolved, and her case is part of cold case investigations in Florida.
