Chanel Devoun Williams, an 18-year-old Black woman, tragically lost her life on October 7, 1984, in Hillsborough County, Florida. Her death was part of a series of murders committed by Bobby Joe Long, a notorious serial killer who terrorized the Tampa Bay area during that time. Williams had recently been released from jail before she became one of Long’s victims.
