Maria Rivera-Contreras, a 57-year-old Hispanic woman, tragically lost her life on June 23, 2016, in Tampa, Florida. On that fateful evening, Maria was inside a vehicle with her family after delivering food to a friend on Columbus Avenue. As the car was backing out to proceed onto Columbus Drive, a stray bullet struck her. The bullet was fired during an argument among several teens in the area.
