On August 14, 2024, a tragic incident occurred outside HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital, located at 6001 Webb Road in Tampa, Florida. Deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. regarding two bodies found in the hospital's parking lot.
The victims were identified as Zelica Martucci, a 67-year-old woman, and her husband, Philip Martucci, who was 74 or 75 years old, depending on the source.
Zelica Martucci had been shot multiple times, while Philip Martucci had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The couple resided in Seffner, Florida. The investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office suggests that this was a suspected murder-suicide, and authorities believe it was an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
Zelica Martucci, whose full name was Zelica Rosa Josefina Oderiz de Martucci, is survived by her family. Her death was described as unexpected, and she was remembered in obituaries for her life and legacy.
