On January 23, 2023, 15-year-old Javeaire Winston was fatally shot near the intersection of North 9th Street and West Atkinson Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., and Javeaire was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to his mother, Brittney Winston, Javeaire was walking to a gas station with a friend when a car approached, and an individual began shooting. Javeaire attempted to flee but was ultimately caught and shot in a nearby park.
