On May 9, 2023, Tyler Brooks, a 15-year-old boy from Milwaukee, was shot and killed near the intersection of 92nd and Birch. Police responded to reports of gunfire around 7 p.m. and found Brooks lying in the street with a handgun near his right hand. Despite immediate medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after being transported.
