Mauricio Alvarez, a 19-year-old from Kenosha, Wisconsin, was shot and killed on June 13, 2023, during what authorities described as a 'drug deal gone bad.' The incident occurred in the parking lot of Grace Lutheran Church, where Alvarez and his brother had traveled from Zion, Illinois, to conduct a drug transaction. During the altercation, Mauricio was shot in the head and later died at the hospital after going into cardiac arrest.
