On the cold evening of January 10, 2024, Antoine Gee Jr., a 33-year-old Black/African American man, was working his job as a Domino's pizza delivery driver in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His shift took a tragic turn when he arrived at an address near Sherman Boulevard and Congress Street for a delivery that was actually a trap. Three teenagers had allegedly concocted a plan not to pay for their pizza, but to "snatch it" from the driver.
Surveillance video from a nearby home captured the fatal
encounter. The footage showed Gee approaching three individuals before a struggle broke out. In the ensuing chaos, multiple gunshots rang out, and Gee was struck three times. The assailants fled the scene, one of them carrying the pizza delivery bag, leaving Gee lying motionless on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the time authorities arrived.
The investigation moved quickly after police discovered a receipt for the pizza order near Gee's body. This crucial piece of evidence led them to a residence where a witness eventually told investigators they had overheard the teens planning the robbery. Police soon arrested three 17-year-old suspects: Armier McArthur, Keyshaun McNealy, and Damain Patrick.
The three teenagers were charged as adults with felony murder. In September, all three, by then 18 years old, pleaded guilty to the charge. Two months later, a judge sentenced each of them to 17 years in prison, followed by six years of extended supervision for their roles in the senseless killing. Family and friends remembered Antoine Gee Jr. not just as a delivery driver, but as the backbone of his family—a truck driver, landlord, and investor who was taken for nothing.
