In the quiet city of La Crosse, Wisconsin, the life of a beloved 61-year-old Caucasian male named Brady Lynn Fredrickson was tragically cut short on the evening of January 18, 2024. He was the successful owner of "Brady's Auto Service" on the North Side of La Crosse and found joy in life's simple pleasures, such as riding his Harley, deer hunting, and spending
precious moments with his friends and family. His sudden and violent death left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
The circumstances of his death unfolded in a shocking and brutal manner. On that fateful Thursday night, at approximately 8:59 pm, La Crosse Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of Farnam Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Fredrickson deceased, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation into his death quickly pointed to a suspect close to home, his stepson, Alan Fry. The motive for this tragic act was reported to be an argument over a coat, a seemingly trivial matter that escalated into a fatal confrontation.
The investigation led to the arrest of Alan Fry, who was subsequently charged with first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. In a further disturbing development, authorities also connected Fry to a house fire that occurred on Denton Street on the same night as the shooting. As the legal proceedings unfolded, Fry pleaded no contest to a charge of second-degree intentional homicide by reason of mental disease or defect. Ultimately, he was ordered to be committed to a state mental health facility for a term of 35 years.
