On July 4, 2024, 42-year-old José De Jesús Fuentes Hernández, a respected business owner in Columbus, Wisconsin, was fatally shot in the downtown area. The incident occurred around 1:31 a.m. near his establishment, Tequilas Bar and Grill. Police responding to reports of fireworks and a fight discovered Fuentes Hernández with gunshot wounds; he was transported to Prairie Ridge Health, where he was pronounced dead.
