In the quiet town of Indianola, Oklahoma, the life of 59-year-old Jan Michael Agnew, a White male, came to a sudden and violent end on January 19, 2023. On that fateful day, emergency services received a call from Agnew's wife, 54-year-old Cynthia Agnew, who confessed to shooting her husband.

He had retired as the Superintendent of Facility and Maintenance for the Garland Independent School District and was living out his lifelong dream of serving as the Assistant Fire Chief and a first responder in McAlester, Oklahoma. His love for the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, was only surpassed by the cherished moments he spent with his family.
