In the early hours of a Sunday morning, the life of 31-year-old Bennie Simmons, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Oklahoma City. The fatal encounter unfolded on April 2, 2023, in the parking lot of an event center located at 1148 NE 36th St. Police were called to the scene at approximately 1:55 a.m. in response to a disturbance.
