In the quiet town of Henryetta, Oklahoma, a horrific tragedy unfolded around April 30, 2023, claiming the life of 17-year-old Rylee Elizabeth Allen. Rylee, a female with a talent for painting and aspirations of becoming both an artist and a doctor to help people, was found deceased on a rural property. She was one of seven individuals discovered in a mass murder-suicide.
The devastating event came to light on May 1, 2023, during a search for two missing teenagers, 14-year-old Ivy Webster
and 15-year-old Brittany Brewer, who had been at a sleepover at the residence. The search led authorities to the property of Jesse McFadden, a 39-year-old convicted sex offender. There, they found the bodies of Rylee, her mother Holly Guess her brother Michael James Mayo her sister Tiffany Dore Guess and their friends Ivy and Brittany. The bodies were scattered across the property, some located near a creek and others in wooded areas.
The suspect in the killings was identified as Jesse McFadden, who was Rylee's stepfather. McFadden had married her mother less than a year prior to the incident. On the day the bodies were discovered, McFadden was scheduled to appear in court for a jury trial on charges of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor and possession of child pornography. When he failed to show up, concerns were raised, leading to the grim discovery at his home. After killing the six victims, McFadden turned the gun on himself, dying by suicide.
Autopsy reports confirmed that Rylee Elizabeth Allen and the other five victims all died from gunshot wounds to the head, with some sustaining multiple wounds. Because the perpetrator, Jesse McFadden, was also found deceased at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, no arrests were made in connection with the murders. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation later took over the case to ensure all evidence was properly processed and to piece together the sequence of events that led to the tragic loss of seven lives.
