In the small town of Henryetta, Oklahoma, the community was shaken by the tragic death of 15-year-old Brittany Brewer. A student at Henryetta Middle School, Brittany was known for her bubbly personality and was an active member of the school choir and her church youth group. Her life was cut short on May 1, 2023, when her body was discovered along with six others on a rural property in Okmulgee County.
The search for Brittany and her 14-year-old friend, Ivy Webster, began after they were
reported missing. The investigation led authorities to the property of Jesse McFadden, a 39-year-old convicted sex offender. There, they made the grim discovery of seven bodies. The victims included Brittany Brewer, Ivy Webster, Michael Mayo, 15, Rylee Allen, 17, Tiffany Guess, 13, and her mother, Holly Guess, 35.
The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that Brittany and the other five victims all died from gunshot wounds to the head. The reports also revealed that Brittany and Ivy had injuries consistent with sexual assault. The investigation concluded that Jesse McFadden was the perpetrator of the horrific mass murder. McFadden died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene.
At the time of the murders, McFadden was scheduled to appear in court on charges of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor and possession of child pornography. He had a prior conviction for first-degree rape in 2003 and had been released from prison in October 2020. The devastating event left the community of Henryetta in mourning for the young lives that were tragically lost.
