On January 1, 2024, 46-year-old Levell Newton was fatally shot at a residence located at 1618 SW New York Avenue in Lawton, Oklahoma. Lawton Police Department officers responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m. to assist the Lawton Fire Department with an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, they discovered Newton with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
