In the early morning hours of April 14, 2024, the life of 33-year-old MiKayla Dianne Blackeagle, a Native American woman, was tragically cut short in Lawton, Oklahoma. A proud member of the Kiowa, Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes, she was discovered on a porch by Lawton police who were responding to a shooting shortly after 3 a.m. She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and, despite the efforts of emergency responders, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
