In the early hours of June 1, 2024, a dispute that began on social media escalated to a tragic real-world conclusion, ending the life of 17-year-old Gjmon Davis. A student at U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City, the young man was fatally wounded in a planned gunfight. The confrontation was instigated by Gjmon's own 15-year-old brother, who challenged another group online to 'fight or shoot it out,' leading them to a designated address near Southwest 25th Street and Youngs Boulevard.
The ensuing altercation resulted in Gjmon Davis sustaining a fatal gunshot wound. At approximately 3:05 AM, he was left at Southwest Medical Center. Hospital surveillance footage captured his younger brother assisting him into the facility before departing the scene. Despite medical attention, Gjmon Davis was pronounced dead, marking the 36th homicide in Oklahoma City for the year.
The investigation into the shooting led to a series of arrests. The first to be taken into custody on June 11, 2024, was 19-year-old Zachary Ramsey. Shortly thereafter, Gjmon's 15-year-old brother was apprehended in Kansas City. The list of suspects grew to include 19-year-old Shicobion Jialin Mychael Goosby and 21-year-old Keamario Harris, all of whom are facing charges of first-degree murder. In total, six individuals were reported to be in custody in connection with the fatal shootout.
