On July 19, 2024, 55-year-old Ange Marie Adkins-Gilbert, a White female, lost her life in a violent encounter that also claimed the lives of her father and her son. The incident, which authorities later described as a murder-suicide, took the
lives of three generations of the same family. Along with Ange, her 76-year-old father, Arthur 'Wayne' Haas, and her 21-year-old son, Jared Shawn Haas-Upky, were also found deceased. The person responsible for this tragedy was identified by police as Ange's 26-year-old nephew, Jacob Haas, who then took his own life.
