North Lincoln Boulevard, Trojak found himself in a position to intervene in a domestic dispute. In an act of selflessness, he stepped in to assist someone in need. An altercation ensued within a hotel room, and the situation escalated to violence. Around 8:30 p.m., Oklahoma City Police Department officers were dispatched to the hotel following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Trojak inside a hotel room, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators quickly determined that the shooting had been preceded by the altercation. Authorities identified and arrested a suspect, 16-year-old Kingston Nathaniel Mosby. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after a juvenile adjudication.
