In the early hours of May 9, 2023, a sudden burst of gunfire shattered the predawn quiet in Kent, Washington, claiming the life of Brenda Matchett, a 55-year-old Caucasian female. Matchett, a mother of six and a grandmother of ten, was with her daughter near the intersection of South 277th Street and Green River Road South. She had been living in an RV in an encampment in the area and had just been dropped off by her daughter, Tabby Keller, after they had spent the day together.
