In the early morning hours of August 20, 2023, chaos erupted at the Rainier Hookah Lounge in South Seattle, ending in a hail of bullets that left three people dead and six others wounded. Among the deceased was 22-year-old Jonathan Bishu. The violence broke out around 4:30 a.m., a time when the lounge was still occupied by numerous patrons. When police arrived at the scene in the 2200 block of Rainier Avenue South, they discovered a grim tableau.
