In the late afternoon of November 28, 2023, tragedy struck in Auburn, Washington, ending the life of 25-year-old Hispanic/Latino male, Joel Renteria-Soto. The incident unfolded around 4 p.m. in the 2200 block of I Street Northeast, where the Auburn Police Department responded to multiple reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a white Honda riddled with bullet holes. Inside the vehicle, in the driver's seat, they found Joel Renteria-Soto with at least one gunshot wound.
