On the evening of August 25, 2024, 33-year-old Hispanic male Jose Antonio Lemus Castillo of Tacoma, Washington, was fatally shot during a violent exchange of gunfire in Lakewood. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of 33rd Avenue South and 82nd Street South, adjacent to a mobile home park.
