Christopher Allen, aged 52, was tragically shot and killed on June 16, 2019, in Lakewood, Washington. The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. at a trailer located in the 6900-block of 146th Street Southwest, across from Heritage Park apartments. According to the Pierce County Medical Examiner's office, Allen was outside working on a vehicle with the homeowner when the shooting began.
The homeowner's daughter and another man were also present at the trailer earlier, but they left before the shooting started.
The suspect, Jovan Antwann Wade, 38, was at the trailer for reasons that remain unclear. Wade reportedly began firing bullets at random through a bedroom window. The shooting left one man injured with a 9mm bullet wound to his chest. After being shot, the victim fled the bedroom and met the homeowner on the front porch. Allen went inside to investigate the gunfire but never returned. The homeowner and a neighbor later found Allen dead inside the trailer.
Jovan Antwann Wade was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. He was held at Pierce County jail following his arraignment. The investigation revealed that Wade was firing bullets from a back bedroom belonging to the homeowner's daughter. The homeowner's daughter has not been located since the shooting.
