On October 2, 2024, 26-year-old Oliver Naseri Vaovasa was fatally shot near the 9500 block of South Steele Street in Tacoma, Washington. Responding to multiple reports of gunfire around 8:30 p.m., Tacoma police, along with Washington State Patrol and Pierce County deputies, discovered Vaovasa with a gunshot wound to the chest.
