On October 23, 2024, Ronald D. Evans Jr., a 41-year-old resident of Prescott, Washington, was fatally shot during a dispute with a neighbor. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of East 3rd Street. Upon arrival, deputies found Evans suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
