On March 10, 2023, at approximately 11:12 p.m., Cincinnati police responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Craft Street in the Winton Hills neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Ahmyah Bea Stanley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The following day, the Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit, in collaboration with the Colerain Township Police Department and the Hamilton County
SWAT team, arrested 22-year-old Myshawn Stanley on an open murder warrant in connection with Ahmyah's death. Family members later revealed that Myshawn was Ahmyah's brother and alleged that the fatal incident stemmed from a dispute over the video game Fortnite. According to relatives, Myshawn became aggressive when Ahmyah preferred to watch television instead of allowing him to play the game. The altercation escalated, leading to Myshawn allegedly shooting his sister multiple times as she attempted to flee.
Family members described Ahmyah as a bright and determined individual with aspirations of becoming a hairstylist for abused women and children. They expressed profound grief over the loss, noting that Ahmyah had been a protective and supportive figure for her brother, making the circumstances of her death even more tragic. Following his arrest, Myshawn appeared in Hamilton County court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. His bond was set at $500,000, and the case remains under investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit.
