On May 31, 2023, at approximately 8:26 p.m., 39-year-old Adrian Smith Sr. was fatally shot in the parking lot of Express Beverage at 1925 Lockbourne Road in southeast Columbus, Ohio. Smith, a father of nine, was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident also resulted in the injury of a second man, aged 31, who was struck by gunfire while in a vehicle in the line of fire. This second victim managed to drive himself to safety before ...
