On June 8, 2023, Jonathan Tylee Ash, an 18-year-old from Mansfield, Ohio, was fatally shot in an incident that also claimed the life of another teenager, Nathan Carroll, who was the same age. Both victims were found at North Lake Park and were subsequently transported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Jonathan succumbed to his injuries on June 21, 2023, after being in critical condition for over two weeks.
