On July 17, 2023, at approximately 3:58 a.m., Canton police responded to a reported shooting at 423 Gobel Avenue NE. Upon arrival, officers found 32-year-old Kody M. Ingram with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:43 a.m.
According to a 911 call, Ingram's fiancée reported that he had threatened her and her three children with a gun, stating he would kill them. In self-defense, she shot him. The Stark County Coroner'
