On the evening of August 8, 2021, Aaron Lucas was found shot multiple times in the face, neck, and torso in the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of 13th Street NW.
He was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The preliminary investigation revealed that Lucas was involved in an argument with Nichalous Dimitri Harvey, 37, which escalated, leading Harvey to allegedly shoot Lucas multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Nichalous Harvey was later charged with murder, a first-degree felony, and a warrant for his arrest was issued. Harvey turned himself in at the Stark County Sheriff's Office on August 10, 2021, and was arrested without incident. The trial of Trejuan Johnson was delayed due to Lucas' death, as Lucas was a key witness in the case.
