Douglas C. Adkins, a 67-year-old white male from Canton, Ohio, was fatally shot on December 1, 2023, near his residence in the 1700 block of Cleveland Avenue SW. He succumbed to his injuries on December 5, 2023.

On December 7, 2023, authorities arrested 28-year-old Chabrijuana J. Glenn, an Akron resident, in connection with the shooting. She was charged with murder and held in the Stark County Jail on a $2 million bond.
