On September 13, 2023, at approximately 11:38 p.m., 24-year-old Tavia Paige "Hunter" Copley was involved in a physical altercation outside Double D's Pub on South High Street in Columbus, Ohio. During the confrontation, 19-year-old Joseph Bryan Howard, identified as the brother of one of the women involved, approached and fired a handgun, striking both Copley and his sister, 24-year-old Taya Mollette. A third individual was also injured in the incident.
