Aaditya Adlakha, a 26-year-old doctoral student from India, tragically lost his life following a shooting incident in Cincinnati, Ohio. On November 9, 2023, he was found inside his vehicle, which had crashed into a wall on the upper deck of the Western Hills Viaduct. The Cincinnati Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area around 6:20 AM, as detected by ShotSpotter, a gunfire detection system.
Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle with multiple bullet holes and alerted emergency services. Adlakha was transported to the UC Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries two days later, on November 11, according to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.
Adlakha was a fourth-year doctoral student in the molecular and developmental biology program at the University of Cincinnati.
